The Westboro Baptist Church, infamous for protesting at the funerals of Iraq war veterans is planning another protest in Chicago at the funeral of comedian Bernie Mac.

In a press statement released to the media, the group claims that "God hates Bernie Mac and the entire potty-mouth, Hell-bound, f*g enabling entertainment industry."

The Kansas based group also says "America's filthy comedians have enraged God."

The church has come under fire in the past for inflammatory remarks about homosexuals, Muslims, Jews, and other minority groups and for picketing at gay pride events.

Mac's funeral services will be held Saturday morning.

^ See, thing is, if they did it while he was ALIVE, he would probably be smarter than they were, and ready with a witty put down. Of course, dead, he's probably still smarter than them, but whatever. Their fight to lose.

Well. Aren't people just a delight?

I can't help but wonder, though, how much less effective their protests would be if everyone just stopped paying attention to them. That's what I do with my cousins when they act like repulsive, attention seeking dickheads, so I don't see why these people should be any different.

Ugh, though.

I have to say, after a healthy dose of their rhetoric, all I want to do is watch Sarah Silverman on youtube, so whatever. How successful were they?
