So I am going to get a laptop for college, but I am having trouble just finding one. I know for a fact that I do not want a mac just because I highly prefer using PC. Now, I wanted a hard drive with 7200rpm but I can't seem to find any... the only one I could find was the Dell XPS systems. Does anyone know of any others? Or is this pretty unrealistic to want? I was hoping for a HP but that seems to be hopeless.

Anyone laptop savvy enough to help me?

Asus f8sn series, comes with I think three models. I bought one recently for 1,400, mines the f8sn-c1 model. Not sure if you can find my model anymore, but it works fantastic.
Intel Core Duo T9300 (2.5GHZ)
3GB DDR2 (Forgot the speed and timing)
Geforce 9500m 512MB DDR2 Dedicated Memory
320GB Hardrive 5400RPM split into two partitions (If you re-install Vista you can have the option to do one partition as well to)
Wireless ABG and N... and also bluetooth.
DVD Burner
14.1" WXGA
1.3MP Webcam
Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
Energy saving software (On saving mode I can push it to 2 1/2 hours)
Fingerprint Reader.
Great bang for the buck... runs anything flawlessly, and effortlessly.

The 5400RPM Harddrive did worry me a little bit... since it is huge with 320Gigs of massive storage, but so far I have used more than half of my space and haven't noticed any slowdowns at all. Windows Vista defragments your hardrive every Wednesday at 1:00A.M. and it works... well I leave my laptop on 24/7 anyway with a notebook cooler. Yeah, it's been over a month and it hasn't slowed down since with the laptop being on constantly.

Warranty is awesome too, they offer one year accidental spill, surge, fire... so lets say you drop your laptop and it gets stratched? Light it on fire or dump it in water and use the warranty :) (Not saying you should actually do that, but it's an example). But you must mail in the warranty slip within the first 90 days of purchase otherwise it will become void. Oh, and two years of parts and labor warranty as well too... which is absolutely free.

You can order it from newegg.com which makes life and shipping easier.
Bought mine monday night, processed the card tuesday, got it Wednesday. Plus... the laptop gets everyones attention, because nobody has it ;).
Windows Experience rating: 5.0

But yeah, Asus is my pick. I loved using their motherboards to build computers, and their laptops are just as awesome.
