OKAY UM. Sigh. This book was fairly disappointing, and I'm quite upset with total turn of the whole Twilight saga. Lol, I honestly didn't really mind the name, it was just I kept forgetting how to pronounce it in my head. I mean...Renesmee? It seems cute at first but it was just kind of annoying to pronounce.
I liked the book up until one-third of Book Three - with Bella's point of view. Book One: Okay, this was Meyer's usual story telling, the whole romance thing. It was funny about how they had sex, how many times they had it throughout the novel and with Edward breaking everything during the honeymoon. It kind of annoyed me that she didn't go in detail with it. But it also didn't surprise me because I read somewhere that Meyer was trying to make abstinence cool. =/, it was kind of like oh kissing and then...she wakes up and gets hungry -_-, big woop...I would have to scan through to really get into detail, so I'll just leave it at that. Book Two: From the start, I actually liked Jacob's character, it was cute and comforting, because really I always thought Bella would be with Edward in the end...and he added some comedy. Whereas Edward added the suave romantic part of the story. I didn't mind it because it was interesting to view the wolf pack's point of view and all the thoughts. Also Jacob's own thoughts - and the answers that Edward would give. However, I didn't think that his part should have been that long. Meyer really dragged out the novel. Most of the story telling was irrelevant to the majority of the story. It really surprised me when he imprinted on Renesmee, it was funny. It also kinda suited his character I guess, but it was ...yeah creepy. Book Three: I really didn't mind the bloody scenes, she puked up blood like a fountain and the whole giving birth thing. =/ Sigh, the whole "I thought I'd be a savage newborn thing", disappointed me somewhat. Idk, Meyer just seemed like she took the easy way out. We were forced to read about how she kept her self-control. Once Alice saw the Volturi thing come, THAT IS WHERE things went wrong. The turn that made this whole book disappointing to me. Everyone preparing for the worse, all the vampires gathering and trying to expand Bella's power. It was building up and building up, and for what? It was dumb, because all of it wasn't worth the ending. The ending was like an ending to a sitcom, Alice suddenly appears from the sky with some half-vampires. The Volturi decide to leave the premises and then the rest on the ground cheer and laugh in relief. While a minute ago they were all waiting for brutal war and death - a suicide mission. Then there it ends. Bella and Edward live forever with their Renesmee forever. =/ For Book Three, I just read it as fan fiction - read it 'til the end so I could say I finished it, hoping that it would surprise me somehow. Sigh, I mean I thought the majority of the book was fine as it was, but Meyer had to bring in the other vampires. I guess she had to deal with it somehow. It's hard to end a series of books the right way for everyone, hmm? Oh well. Haha, I finished the Twilight Saga in a matter of a week. So it feels weird that I got sucked in. Anyways Breaking Dawn, egh. haha. Sigh I'm disappointed with how easy it turned out in the end is all. Everything surrounding the end was eh for me. The rest I thought wasn't so bad to read. edit// Okay, I'm gonna read the first chapter of Midnight Sun *shrugs. Maybe it was different than what I thought it would be. http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_chapter1.pdf wtf it says copyright 2006. =/ BLAH it's kind of like rereading the series -_- Though, seems interesting enough. I'll probably buy it. // And I really hope she STOPS at Midnight Sun...ahg. sigh =/ |
