When I play a video in YouTube, DailyMotion, Facebook, etc., the video has no sound/audio. The video plays fine but there is no sound output even though the sound volume bar was set to highest level. The weird thing is that it seems as though only online videos are affected, because other sounds such as MSN notifications and audio from media players work fine when I play music and videos.

I tried on both Firefox and IE, and it's the same for both. This started happening last night.

I googled this, and most of the solutions were to download a program to fix it. Is it possible to fix the problem without having to download anything?

Do you have the latest version of Flash installed? I'm sure that's not the issue, just the first thing that came to mind (the possibility of the problem being connected to .swf files somehow).
