*EDIT- Thanks to everyone's opinion and advice, i was able to come up with something that i really and truly like. but for some reason, i feel like it's missing something in the bg. what do you think?

my website

so, i finally bought my domain name and this is the design i came up with to put on their. i have been working on this for a couple days now so i'm pretty pooped.

i was aiming for a web 2.0 feel to it so hopefully i accomplished that.
what do you guys think of it? honesty is necessary. thanks!

Looks much better bit for the content area some padding and moving the recent work section little more to the right will complete the look.
Times new roman is great but isn't working out for you.
If you want a slick look to mimic the idea you had before
Century Gothic is your best bet or Lucida Sans Unicode
As for the rest of your text Verdana, Trebuchet MS,Tahoma or Arial are your best choices for fonts.
