he's my boyfriend-ish type person i guess; he asked me out and we're going on a date soon. i like him most of the time, like when he's sweet. like the other day he wrote a song for me because i was upset, and it made me feel so much better. but he can be so immature and sometimes i just think he's annoying. i don't know, am i being too picky? i know you can't change someone, so i'm not going to try to. what should i do?

he's immature, like earlier he said to me "i'm getting so annoyed, people keep telling me i'm amazing, but i'm not." i don't really know why he said it. and im just like, okay...

and im 16.

that and/or he wants reassurance from you. either way i say give it a chance. you never know what could happen, maybe you start liking his "immaturity" or maybe he outgrows it. things could possibly get better... or worse, but you can't find out if you give up now.

Fishing for compliments, yeah.

Don't overthink things during your date.
Just have fun, try not to think way ahead into the future [as us girls tend to do].
