he's my boyfriend-ish type person i guess; he asked me out and we're going on a date soon. i like him most of the time, like when he's sweet. like the other day he wrote a song for me because i was upset, and it made me feel so much better. but he can be so immature and sometimes i just think he's annoying. i don't know, am i being too picky? i know you can't change someone, so i'm not going to try to. what should i do?

I'm not too sure what you mean by immature. It means different things to different people. I think that you should give him a chance though. It's only one date. If you end up not liking him (or downright can't stand him) than don't go on another.
