Little blocks below avatar? Options

So ive noticed the blocks ever since ive gotten here
but never really got them or what they meant

what ive noticed is
50 = 3
100 = 4
300 = 5

But what do they really mean?
You obviously get them from posts
but what are the next numbers to get to the next set of blocks?

this sounds really stupid i know
but its just been scratching at my neck since.

Does anyone else find it annoying that the pips stop at 9? I want it to be possible to get an even 10. Say at 50,000? Lol.

and thats the first time i've seen that chart. EVER.

That's because it's in the admin control panel. Administrators can change how many posts it takes till you get a new pip.
