with the new Hosts Looking for Hostees and Hostees looking for Hosts, IMO, we need something like that, except for affiliates.
it could just be a really simple topic where any person looking for affiliates could post a link to their website, a contact link, and possibly a button and code. i think it would be really handy for a lot of people, especially people that are just starting up their websites. good idea, or no? |

i think it would be helpful to new sites, but people tend to really misunderstand what affiliations really are. most think it's just a matter of exchanging links and commenting each other's blog every now and then. that's a blog roll, not an affiliation.
affiliates are similar to partners, except they don't have any ownership of a company. affiliates might be rewarded for traffic they send, or it might simply be for promotion. createblog.com & ego-box.com are two out of somewhat few resource sites i know that actually have a grasp on what affiliates are for, because the more traffic you send to them, the more they send to you. most other sites just send more traffic to their favorite site, by putting them always at the top of the list. it would be a good idea if it was for true affiliate applications, and not for finding people like a tame despair.nu. |
