is my professor stupid? i'm taking a communications class intro to public speaking, and we have to do like 5 minute speeches almost everyday. so last week, i did my speech, and i got a 24/25 on my speech. the one point i lost was because he said i was too confident and cocky. wtf? he said i should be more humble. i mean is it my fault i'm not shy and humble like most of the students in the class. most of the students in my class are like shy and awkward when they do their speeches. f**ken bullshit man. i thought public speaking was about having confidence in speaking in front of a large group of people. this 1 point better not cost me an A- to a B+.

^ the thing is, shouldn't the grading be consistent? i mean there should be a standard on what constitutes as a 25, or a 24. clearly the professor is favoring and grading differently for each individual. i think i would be more okay that i got a 24, if only he didn't give people a 25 who were far worse than i was, and it was pretty obvious it wasn't as good, from the tone of the attitude of the listeners during the speech.

To be fair, I have never heard you speak, and so really am not in a position to judge, but I can only imagine that he thought they were better. After all, shitty as it is, it's only his opinion which counts. |
