: Not quite. The TCA cycle is one side of it, but because amino acid conversion and utilization is a primary component, skipping all the way to post-esterified compounds like acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA gleams over many of the properties I've pointed to. By the way, the Claisen condensation's use of stronger bases increases the yield, which is very biologically inclined in substantiating factors of quantity and applying them to in vivo circumstances.
