I know none of you will care what I am about to say, but I am going to say it anyways....
It annoys me when people have innaproprite sigs and the F word as their username. With this many mods, I thought someone would do something about it... |

I agree with you. Unfortunately, the ones making the snide remarks also agree with you but have their own ideas about the direction CB needs to go. Here is the thing though. I don't think attitudes like that should be tolerated. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, just in general there are some really horrible attitudes on here. This forum probably has more people with sticks up there asses at any given time than any other forum I have ever been on. CB might not necessarily need any new members, or people to use the resources, or use the layouts, graphics, scripts, tutorials etc etc, but that doesn't mean that people should be allowed to be jerks to one another, or any innocent n00b who dares to ask a stupid question. Instead of posting the simple answer and being thankful it was an easy solution, they have to post the answer, make sure they know it wasn't that difficult/get annoyed when the op doesn't immediately understand, and then joke about it with their other buddies. Basically, I think the powers that be could do more. I know they have real lives as well, and I completely understand that. I'm active in several other things online as well as popping in here now and then, in addition to "real life". This site certainly isn't my priority, but it is something I like to be a part of. The problem is for every constructive topic/post I read there are at least five more that are completely pointless/uncalled for. When I come online to a website where people have enough braincells to build websites, and awesome looking graphics, I also expect them be able to construct real conversations. (And FYI, yeah I've been around longer than just two months. Just haven't been a registered member. I believe I had another username a little while ago, something along the lines of estrella, but even that doesn't reflect how long I've been using CB. I got a Xanga in 2002, and I started using CB sometime after that.) |

I agree; it's the main reason why, for the most part, I stay out of the CC and keep to the RC. But back to the subject of signatures. Although the ability to turn off signatures is handy, there are only a few people who have inappropriate sigs. A lot of people have really cool sigs or funny .gifs, which I like looking at, and so far the number of appropriate sigs far outnumbers the inappropriate ones, so I haven't seen the need to turn off sigs. Yet. It is a pain when my parents walk by, though; I have to go to another tab/window <_< Prudish parents. |
