^ well, this was actually my way of rebelling against "color-blindness" in the "member status."
Last semester, I wrote an essay about how color-blindness and America's particular method of promoting tolerance by saying that everybody is the same is essentially wrong. See, now that I've made everybody's member status blend into the background, people have to highlight to see who's what. I'm the group of people trying to wipe out the differences between races (and in this case... member status whatever). In making everyone the same, I make everybody "appear" to be the same, even though they're really different "on the inside." And nobody liked that, so therefore, yay color-consciousness and boo color-blindness. THERE. |
