Doing random crap to pass the time, at work Options

So when you're at work and you have a lot of downtime, what would you do?

Yea yea, you can go on createBlog, Facebook, check the emailz, and aim on the interwebz, but srsly, what else? Arcade games? Bust out your Nintendo DS or Sony PSP? Bring out some food and munch? Play pranks on co-workers? Listen to your iPod?





Yes, I am currently at work and I am bored. D: I can only do things on the computer, and there's not much since people are out and about right now. :[

i didnt see the 'at work' thing. oh well. as my teachers love to point out, school is your job, and you should act like you are getting paid. yeah right.

Where do you guys work?
I have never had a job that I could use the internet at.

I work at my university's library -- the main one -- but the area that I work in is the science & engineering department (still the same library though). It's really chill and all my supervisors (they're like, in their 30's) AND the librarians (probably 40's+) go on the internet anyways, so they don't care. We're "not supposed" to go on aim, facebook, myspace, or check email. But everyone does them anyway, we just do it discreetly. Meebo is not blocked, but we're not allowed to download the aim program. So technically, they don't really care. One of my supervisors is always on perezhilton.com and a bunch of other tabloid/news blogs. My other supervisors are on sports blogs and watch videos of sports. They each have their own cubicle in the back. YEA, JUST IMAGINE WHAT ELSE THEY'RE LOOKING AT BACK THERE! lolol

On the weekends, the chillest supervisor works, so she practically tells me not to do certain duties that requires me to "actually work", because she's lazy to stay at the front circulation desk. But hardly anyone comes in to check out a book or return a book (I help out at most 16 people within 4 hours) on the weekend.

Jackie - yea I usually just finish the other time-consuming work at the beginning of the shift, so I have a lot of downtime. I used to study, but it was hard -- I couldn't concentrate. Other co-workers listen to their iPods, but I'm scared to take the chance. ;x

luckily for me i've convinced my supervisor to let me use aim because i need to communicate with my co-workers at our other location. =P i work at a clinic in my own little office that i share w/ my supervisor who is never in that office because shes treating patients. so, i listen to youtube/ipod with one ear with my earphones. so once i finish all the insurance billing i just fool around. and guess what...i got another raise last week. =) lol
