What are these lines about?! Options

So, I've made this MySpace for a friend's business.

#1-For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get rid of the | | |'s at the top left.

#2-I'd like some feedback please. Keeping in mind that the roll over links are off and I'm aware of this-it's just the sample for right now.

I'm pretty sure if you just add this code to hide the navigation bar, those lines will go away:

I think the layout looks pretty good. The content area is a little plain, but overall it looks rather professional. :)
