Who decides if mods are doing a good job and should be booted by the end of the probationary period? Perhaps public opinion should come into play? I believe with the idea of the probationary periods, it would be the upper-staff that evaluates how the new staff members have done. I support the idea of having members give their input. Of course upper-staff comments carry more weight in affecting moderator rating but I think that it's just as important for the mod to have an impact to the members if their impact isn't well perceived there is something that mod is doing wrong.. I think you should post a new topic about this and your suggestions.. in the meantime, I'll try to find the source for my answer. e d i t Maybe you'll see this ![]() QUOTE As new staff members, you each will be subject to a probationary period of one month. During this trial period, the upper staff will be observant of your behavior, and you can be let go at any time without necessarily having been told that you need improvement. Of course, our judgment will be fair, but if we feel like you aren't doing your job, you will be let go. After probation, in contrast, you will obviously be extended a bit more leniency, as you've proved that you can do a good job and that you are capable, you're a presence both in the community AND in backstage discussions. |

Well if they couldn't show up for several weeks, shortly after hirings, they should have waited for a subsequent hiring session.
