Demagnetizing credit cards, a myth? |

I've been thinking of getting a Motorola Pebl, but I've heard mixed stories about its ability to demagnetize things, like credit cards and harddrives(?). But others say it's just a myth, and that it only takes a super strong magnet to do that.
Anyone have experience with that, or Pebls in general?

I'm going to assume that credit card companies have found ways to make it hard to demagnetize their cards. If you have really old credit card, than it might. My mom used to be worried about anyone in my house putting their cell phone on the microwave, because "back in the day" microwaves would mess with cellphones.
