are you the type who downloads all your stuff or do you actually go buy and support the industries?
i'm annoyed with people telling me i'm stupid for actually buying my softwares, movies, games, and CDs. i'm sorry that i like having legit collections and the feeling of accomplishment when i buy something i've worked hard to save money for. edit: if it's your thing to download, it's not my problem; i just really dislike it when people get on my case for not wanting to. |

I only buy music if I like the artist a lot and the album's good. And this can only be determined from previous downloading.
I never, ever buy movies. EVER. I'm more likely to go rent them, because I almost never end up watching them again. And even if I do watch them again, I enjoy the freedom of being able to open a single file on my computer instead of going through a crapload of DVDs. I only buy games if I need to. Like, I will need to buy the legit Guitar Hero Wii, unless I can buy a fake guitar from Hong Kong. But I love it so much that I wouldn't mind spending the $100. And I will buy Guitar Hero DS. As for software, I'll buy it if it's absolutely essential for me (like Office), but if I'm just fooling around with it, I'll download it. Like Photoshop. The only way I'd buy Photoshop is if I ever become a professional graphic designer. |

I only buy music if I like the artist a lot and the album's good. And this can only be determined from previous downloading. This is also my stance. I'm not really willing to buy and support something that isn't good quality, and until I find out it is, and that the album is totally worth it, I won't buy a CD at the store. That being said, I tend to buy quite a few CD's. o_o No more than one every two months though. With movies, I'm a cheap ass, and resort to streaming online (specifically SFC and s2e and youtube), only because $21 dollars for two movie tickets is sort of crippling on my budget. Although, if I hear a movie that gets a good review, I'll go out and see it on occasion. The same goes with anime -- I download from torrents online instead of buying the DVD versions of them (and even then, you can't find half of the anime you're looking for!) I'm an avid downloader, sadly, as I don't have the budget to support all of the purchases I would make if I did buy instead of downloading. Like I said though, if its good, I'll offer my support buy it. :) |
