Rated R forum, thoughts? Options

Please know that Jusun has not been talked to about this, so nothing is even close to being set in stone.

Having said that, what do you guys think about having a forum for 17+ members only that can have rated R (perhaps NC17?) content? There would be some kinks to work out, of course, such as verifying member age. There would definitely have to be some type of honor system involved, to some extent.

This would give people of a more mature age the opportunity to post subject matter they are not able to post in the Community Center. I've seen this work very well on another forum.

Thoughts? Hate mail? Love mail?

I don't think CB wants to attract rated R members to the forums... It will give CB a bad name. That's just my opinion.

Do you mean giving cB as a WHOLE a bad name? I mean think about about it: If someone randomly came to createBlog, they'd probably look at the layouts/graphics/scripts/tutorials or go to the resource center. What are the chances of them clicking on the Rated R forum? I don't think cB would be given a bad name

Which brings up another idea - Maybe you can set up the forum so that only members can view the Rated R forums. That way, spectators won't be able to view it, and know nothing about it.

I only suggest this if you do consider having such a forum, which doesn't not really interest me that much (but there is a chance that it could in the future, depending on what content is posted in it).

I think it would give the forums a bad name. I don't really think it woudl affect the resources section. Those are like two COMPLETELY different sides of CB.

When I see a forum that has a rated R board, I think less of the forum. Plus, it might seem like we are trying to use the R rated board to attract more people to the forums.

You mentioned forums at first, but then you said "it will give CB a bad name" without explicitly stating that you were still talking about cB. I just assumed that you were talking about CB as a whole. It's cool though. I just wanted clarification. And yes they are completely two difference sides of cB, but there is still a sense of integration.

As for the forum - they're thinking about having it so that only members can view the forums. As for attracting more members, eh, it could, or it could not.
