I'm not sure if this is worth putting on my computer. What are the good things about it? What are the bad things about it? Should I put it on my computer?

Illustrator is useful for you if you do a lot of vector work (by vector, I mean an actual vector, not the vectors of people with many layers that you see around here, aka vexels).
For example, if you're a designer and you do a lot of logo work, you'll need to create the graphic logo using vectors so that you have the most freedom when it comes to size. That's why the pen tool on here is supposedly better. I don't know about that, since both Illustrator and PS are Adobe. You won't really need it if you're just an amateur and you make things for fun and purely for showcasing on the internet. If you're planning on any print work, especially of the graphic variety, Illustrator is best. Otherwise just stick with Photoshop. |
