With this type you have to sort of test the waters. If he's around, try to get him by himself and just talk with him. If he's willing to do that, that probably means he's interested. If he only flirts with you when other people are around then that means he's just a douche who wants to a)hook up only or b)show off in front of his friends. Stay away from that type like the plague.
