so my ex boyfriend is "friends" with some of my friends, so i see him around. we broke up over a month ago, but he was really rude to me a couple weeks ago so i just stopped talking to him completely. Then when he heard i got my license he apologized (after i confronted him about how rude he was) and he wanted to be friends again. I keep him at a distance, but we still talk and I've given him and our mutual friends a couple of rides, but i cant help but feel I'm supposed to be mean towards him, even though most of the time i just want to be nice.

I dont want to be all nice and him be mean to me again. how should i act towards him?

treat him like you would treat an aquaintance. no special favors like you would give a close friend, but no need to go out of your way to treat him like shit either. if you two have a mutual agreement to remain "friends" then that is as close as it should get. if you get any closer or "buddy-buddy" with him, you run the risk of maybe falling for him again (or vice versa). if you're with someone new, i suggest just cutting off contact with him altogether, at least long enough to ensure avoidance of unnecessary drama.
