Camera and Video Camera Options

So, apparently I need a Camera and a Video Camera.

I'm trying to find out a good camera (good quality photos) and video camera. Does anyone know any good ones? Or good brands? Please don't give me cameras/vcameras that are like 1k+, I can't afford those. lol. I've been browsing around the Frys site but I don't know if it's good or not.

are you looking for an dSLR-type camera? nikon and canons are nice. :D the nikon D40 is around $450, i think (with lens). at least that's what my friend told me. and this canon eos digital rebel xt that i saw at radio shack was on sale for $350 (with lens), but they only had one in stock.

or maybe a point and shoot with a body of a dSLR? i just recently bought a fujifilm s700 for CHEAP and it takes awesome shots. (check my flickr!) i got it cause' i'm taking this class for the next three years of high school where it's all about photography, video editing, and all that good stuff. it's a really great camera without those costly and fragile interchangeable lenses. 7.1 megapixels&12x optical zoom. expect to pay at least $150, but prices vary since the camera is a year old and they just released a newer version with a few more megapixels and a larger zoom range.

i don't know much about video cameras. lmao. hope i helped. haha. OH, and dSLR's don't take video, afaik.
