After I got my bangs cut a few months ago, my Grandmother said I shouldn't because of this Chinese superstition


She said, you've got 3 lights, one on your forehead, and one on each of your shoulders. They help you see the ghosts, and ghosts fear you for the light. Since I have bangs, she says it's covering one of my flashlights and it isn't good and I'll be attacked by ghosts or something in the future o__o;.

my mom always told me not to buy shoes around chinese new year. lmfao. i know, weird. she also told me that shaking my leg will "shake away" all my luck. there's also the having black nail polish on around new years. and being in a bad/negative mood on new years day will foreshadow your bad/negative year.

Ours is we can't buy shoes after chinese new years because 'shoe' in cantonese sounds the exact same as 'rough.' So they don't want you to have a "rough" start to your new year.

And the leg bouncing habit thing is the same with my family, they say you're just horny, haha when I told my boyfriend that, he does it everytime I'm sitting on him.
