After I got my bangs cut a few months ago, my Grandmother said I shouldn't because of this Chinese superstition
![]() She said, you've got 3 lights, one on your forehead, and one on each of your shoulders. They help you see the ghosts, and ghosts fear you for the light. Since I have bangs, she says it's covering one of my flashlights and it isn't good and I'll be attacked by ghosts or something in the future o__o;. What are some strange superstitions you've heard of? |

I don't have any superstitions that I observe consciously, but I'm sure there are some things that I do without really thinking.
I'm a big freak over symmetry/balance, though. If I tap one of my fingers on the desk, the other nine fingers must do the same thing. If I'm walking left, right, on the sidewalk and step with my right foot onto the grass, I get all weird because now I'm uneven. When I step back onto the sidewalk, I have to step with my right foot first to even it back out. Unless it's awkward, though, I try to subtly make sure my right foot touches the sidewalk before stepping out onto the grass with my left foot (wtf). I used to be much worse about it, like if one of my arm muscles twitched the other arm would have to do it, too. I convinced myself that it was weird and was able to suppress that need somehow. ..this all sounds so weird now. =x But yeah, it's not a superstition, it's just an eccentricity, I think. |
