So, I don't know if people in other states do this, but here in Jersey it seems like it's a necesity for the guy to match his date's dress. Example, my dress is like a baby blue type of color, and prom date is going to match it. Is it really that big of a deal to match? If you ask me, my date could throw on an all black tux and throw on a baby blue tie and I'd be fine. Heck, I'd be fine even if he had no blue on. And, I don't want him to spend too much money, because he's going to three proms this year-- mine, his, and another girl's prom at another school. It's only my Junior prom, too, so I'm not going to be as decked out as others will be.

Dude do you know how hard it is to match a red dress with.. anything (sophomore year)?
It depends on what you're wearing, though, and what your preference is. If all else fails he can always just to black and white and will probably feel less awkward in doing so. But if he wants to try to match, then by all means let him. As long as you guys aren't clashing, it's no big deal. |
