I opened a photo from my computer in my photoshop. I did my editing and what not. Usually, I copy the image and paste it onto a new document because of the huge difference in screen resolution size. A new photoshop document in 72 pixels/inch, while a photo opened in photoshop is 230 pixels/inch.
Well, I forgot to paste it into a new document. Now, as I begin to add text and brushes, I realized that the screen resolution is too high. (Everything is too big). I would copy and paste each individual layer into a new document, but I have about 60 layers.
Is there any way to change the screen resolution on an open document?

Wait a second...DO NOT CHECK RESAMPLE! Uncheck resample and change the resolution to 72. That way it will keep the pixel dimensions the same, but change the document size (which is what you want).
