Graphic makers permission?, Graphic makers permission? Options

Hey there are some really cool backgrounds on here and all the time ill ask somone if I can use one of there backgrounds to turn into a layout to put on my site for people to use and ive always asked for permission but there are some people who havent signed on since like 2004 and I dont think they will but I really want to use some of the things they made but I cant get permission cause they never see the request. So when that happens can I just take them? Will it be ok if I put a note on my site that says like "if you were the designer of any of the following images and you have not been credited or would like your image removed feel free to contact me."

If the images are from createblog.com and your making it into a layout to submit here to createblog.com Then I personally would find it okay. As long as you are not taking any credits for the images and you give proper credit to the original artists for any images or content used.

I would think so. Createblog is a resource site for this sort of thing and anyone submitting backgrounds to the CB servers is granting us an implied license to use 'em. Make sure the original artist hasn't put any additional requirements on their designs (like having to contact them if you're using the resource in another submission) and make sure to credit-link them on your layout in a credit module.

If that all checks out, you're go for launch.
