I actually got the idea for this from a research paper that I'm doing AND Tung's debate topic about the concept of race.
Do you think it's better be color-blind and treat all races as if they were exactly the same? Or be color-conscious and acknowledge the similarities and differences between the races and treat them accordingly? |

I disagree with colorblindness because many race is a part of everybody's identity. Race isn't just a color, it reflects different cultures, living environment, thoughts, etc. To be colorblind is to assume that different groups of people are all the same when, in actuality, they aren't.
I think the key to acceptance is to understand the differences in each race and embrace those differences instead of treating everybody as if they were the same color. |
