When did become an acceptable modding action to do this all the time? There have been too many examples lately (I don't want to bring up old issues), but what has happened to the Elba = Melie thread? I never got to read it. Just because it's been resolved doesn't mean it needs to be deleted. It's really irritating for things to be deleted, and it decreases accountability, because then things can't be referenced and quoted.

Ok, the mystery is over.
I know exactly who deleted them, Sarah did. Now, before you jump down her throat (and I would really, really appreciate it if you didn't), please understand something. Sarah is not an experienced Community Center staff member. Just as I'm not an overly experienced Design/Resource Center staff member. Dani is a good mixture of the two. It is nice to have balance in the administrator positions (strong RC, strong CC, can go either way). Sarah was doing what she thought she should do, since we had been discussing what to do with multiple spamming topics. To clarify, spamming topics that are made one right after another. The melie=elba one wasn't necessarily a spamming issue, but because it was embarrassing to melie and she was completely innocent, I think that is why, in part that particular thread was deleted. I would really appreciate it if you guys could give her a chance to ease into the Community Center. She made some judgment calls, it happens. Those are still in the trash can from what I can see, so they're not lost forever (although I'm not sure why you'd want them back). Again, her specialty is in Design related forums. That isn't to say that she isn't supposed to be in the Community Center, that it's forbidden to her, but her strong experience has been in other areas. So can you please cut her some slack? We'll work with her (and everyone on staff for that matter) to get everyone on the same page regarding the deletion of threads. So, as far as discussing threads being deleted, I'm fine with this staying open and not moved to resolved for the time being. If, however, this turns into something else, if people start spamming away, bashing, needlessly name calling, etc then it will be closed. Ok, dinner time. =) |
