When did become an acceptable modding action to do this all the time? There have been too many examples lately (I don't want to bring up old issues), but what has happened to the Elba = Melie thread? I never got to read it. Just because it's been resolved doesn't mean it needs to be deleted. It's really irritating for things to be deleted, and it decreases accountability, because then things can't be referenced and quoted.

Real quick, because I'm at work and can't be on long. I don't like the deleting of topics. I think I've been pretty clear on that. If we're going to delete things in the name of "clutter", then "clutter" should be more defined (if possible). I come along, move something to VIP. Someone else comes along, closes a topic and leaves it. Someone else comes along, closes the topic and deletes it. I can see how people might be getting mixed signals.
We're going to be discussing this and hopefully come up with a uniform way of handling these and make it clear how these topics will be handled. I can tell you where my mind is (sort of). If it's spam, I move it to the VIP Lounge, especially since Forum Games (Sandbox formerly) is back to being just that, Forum Games. If it's a topic made for the sole purpose of calling someone a bitch, arrogant or a topic created for the sole purpose of Moderator Feedback (for better or for worse), I'm going to close it. We have a Moderator Feedback thread and really, I don't see why people don't respond there. Maybe I'm being naive. On a personal level, I'm fine with topics being closed and staying. They'll get bumped down soon enough. Anyway, I wanted to respond here, let you guys know that it isn't being ignored or unnoticed. |
