In the bay area of California, a mini earthquake strike but it felt strong. (A couple months ago) Somewhere around a 3.7-4.1 I believe? I forgot.
According to the article, it says there is a chance that it might hit 6.7 magnitude sometime the next 30 years. That's pretty damn scary. Especially the fact that it had killed people in the past. QUOTE The 1994 Northridge earthquake under Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley was magnitude 6.7. It killed 72 people, injured more than 9,000 and caused $25 billion in damage in the metropolitan area. Yeah I definitely felt that earthquake back in October(?). And uhhh, a 6.7? Time to move to Asia ):
Plus I live right next to the Hayward fault (Calaveras!!!). More ): ): ): ): ): QUOTE The odds of such an event are higher in Southern California than Northern California, 97 percent versus 93 percent. "It basically guarantees it's going to happen," said Ned Field... SCARY |
