Hello - it's that time again.
We would like to know who may be interested in becoming a staff member, or if there's anyone that you would like to see on staff. Please post in this thread if you are interested and/or who you think should be hired. It would be greatly appreciated if you could give a reason as to why you (or who you are suggesting) would be a good addition to staff. Please specify People Staff or Design Staff. I'll repeat something that was mentioned in the last hiring thread regarding potential Design Staff: QUOTE Especially for Design staff, dont be afraid to nominate yourself if you have a low amount of posts but you have a lot of great contributions. We may still consider you, we may not. But we'll never know if you dont put your name out there. We do not have a definite time frame yet, but this should take no longer than a couple of weeks (depending on how long this thread remains open). Also, one more thing (then I promise to hush, for a while at least xD), please don't spam in this thread. =) THE LIST People Staff: Tungster NoSex doiink paperplane melie absinthe DoubleJ icecreamisyummy manny-the-dino kryogenix Design Staff: clarity doublehelix melie schizo highwayto4355 CrotchetTheLeper EDIT: Couple of things. I'd like to close this Sunday evening, so if you think of anyone that you believe would be good on staff, please post their name (and which position) by Sunday evening. Also, I'm going to start deleting any posts that are not hiring related from now on. I hate to do that because I hate deleting posts, but I will in this thread. Sorry guys. - Rebecca |

Tung & Yanlin for people staff, also, I would like to nominate myself for a position on Design Staff, but I would also like to be considered for People Staff if you see that I am fit for either of them. I’ve previously been on Design staff and MySpace staff, on two different occasions. I know the amount of work that is required of any staff member, as well as how much commitment they must have for the site, and the drive of passion to want to help others. I enjoy helping people on a regular basis. I know how to work in the submissions queue, and I know the requirements of cB submissions. With my combined 8 months of experience on staff, I think that time, alone can qualify someone for staff, I helped a lot with the organization of some topics, such as Mod guidelines (but never actually got implemented) as well as the cB orientation, I developed the Design Staff HQ to act as a base for all DS activity, and I followed every mod guideline to the dot. While on staff, my reasons for stepping down in the past, I have regretted, the first time, however, unavoidable. It was school. And the second time, being a little more complicated, involving disputes with other staff members, regarding anything I ever brought up — that was the most stressful position I had ever had on staff, and I didn't handle, nor react the way that I would now. Had the same thing happened today, I would encourage them to share with me, why they do not like the idea, how they could offer improvements to it, and make growth to it from there. The reason that I feel that I can be the most qualified person for this position has led me to the conclusion that I am the most qualified for the position because I have the most time devotion to cB as a whole than any other member, the role is not a title but a commitment, I feel that the title has sometimes, been misconstrued as a popularity status, but it is just like being in a relationship, you have to respect it. I would like to apply for People staff, because I feel that I am one of the more mature posters on this board. I do like to have fun every once in a while, and I have in the past contributed to some bickering. I wouldn’t necessarily say that is behind me, but I can certainly promise that I am a changed person regarding to unnecessary “fights”. I am quite active in the community center, as well as the resource center. If not in the lounge, I have spent a good deal of time in the books, and school parts of the board. I, though not often give advice in the relationships, and technology forums.

Let's analyze:
I’ve previously been on Design staff and MySpace staff, on two different occasions. And what happened on the second occasion?QUOTE I know the amount of work that is required of any staff member, as well as how much commitment they must have for the site, and the drive of passion to want to help others. Yet, you were inactive for almost a month the second time you were hired, and then came back and bitched that you were the only one doing work when you did jack shit.QUOTE With my combined 8 months of experience on staff, I think that time, alone can qualify someone for staff. Did you subtract you absences while you held the position?QUOTE I developed the Design Staff HQ to act as a base for all DS activity. Developed the Design Staff HQ? You made a thread Backstage for DS to post in. That must have taken forever. Please don't hire Thomas, BUT HIRE ME! |
