okay so this is my first and its really bad so I made the background a little distracting any constructive criticism would be nice because I had a hard time especially in choosing the shades and doing the gradient any suggestions?

Hm.

Well, so you don't have to worry about skin color selection at the moment, you might wanna google "skin color swatches" or something.

You just seem to need more practice at tracing shapes and making it a bit smoother. Also, the shading on the actual face - increase the contrast a little bit. Right now it looks really blotchy.
