How long does it take yall to adapt to a new location? How long does it take you to REALLY know your place? You can say it could be a lifetime for you to really truly understand the aspect of where you live. But just in general terms, it usually takes me about 2 years to actually get the feel of a new city. I been living in Davis for nearly two years now, and I can say I am starting to get use to the place, but there's still some little aspects that I'm still unfamiliar with.

I never did get used to Pittsburgh, after living there for a year. Of course, I hated it and moved to where I am now (have been here since August).
I lived in southern California for most of my life and I could drive to certain places without even thinking about it, really. Here, well, it's better than Pittsburgh, I can already tell. It'll take me a while to feel like it's home though. Home to me, or feeling settled is a long process because I'm a creature of habit. I think probably within the next year or so I should feel completely adapted. It does help that I'm always with my son though. It makes the adaptation process smoother, easier to deal with. |
