My girlfriend says she will kill herself if we break-up. We have been best friends for a long time and we are very close,but... Im very worried. Can someone help?

I've seen tons of girls go through this phase before, due to insecurity. The best advice I can give you is to reassure her (which seems like a drag to do constantly, but she'd appreciate it) that you won't break up with her, even though it may eventually happen. (keyword = may, don't hate me, haha). A lot of women like constant reassurance, if they aren't too high with their self-esteem. Even I've slipped into those doubtful phases, although I haven't gone quite as far as saying I'd kill myself. You should probably also tell her parents so that they can get help for her if this is a serious issue, place her on meds or even therapy, etc.

And after you guys do breakup, then she'll say everything you did was a lie and hold it against you. If she doesn't hold it against you, she'll claim her world fell apart and then kill herself.

Am I being blunt? Yes. Cruel? No, I'm saying these things for your good and her good. I'm being this way because I had a pleasant stay in a mental hospital for a decent bit of time where practically everyone there was depressed or insane.

Don't say things to people if you're not going to hold to it, period. It's the shittiest thing you can do to someone, and I'm sure most people at some age have become 1000% sure that they've found their soulmate and wanna promise their entire lives away, but that's not how it works, kids. Get her professional help, now.

For the record, confidence is attractive. Neediness is not. How awesome is life when your significant other is hanging off your arm all the damn time? It's not fun.
