long distance relationships work. as melie stated, "trust, communication and respect" are essential; the reason why most long distance relationships fail is because only a rare/small amount of people actually have the dedication, persistence, and loyalty necessary to keep the relationship alive, oh and don't forget the other 3 qualifications. your stupid friend's relationship didn't work because well, he's an idiot and obviously doesn't give a shit about the relationship he's in. poor girl. and if you don't have the balls to tell your friend's girl that he's a manwhore, kudos to you!
