So, the button on my computer is starting to go, I think. As such, I decided to not turn off my computer and just log off instead. I asked some techie type at work and he said that should be fine. Weird thing is that my computer was off this morning, not just logged off. I do the log off thing with my laptop and it works fine.
This ever happen to anyone? (Where you don't turn off your computer yet it shuts off on its own?) I apologize once more for dumbass questions. Eh, in case you need specs: Windows XP Media Center Edition, Version 2, Service Pack 2 AMD Athlon 63 Processor 3400+ 2.39 GHz, 1.00 GB of Ram Yes I know my computer sucks. |

The reason not turning it off is a good thing (I think, correct me if I'm wrong):
When you turn it on and off, the your HD has to start spinning and stop spinning, and if you let it maintain by staying on, there isn't the fluctuation in what it's doing. I've had the same issue w/ sticky buttons, and basically all I would do is poke the button a few times after turning it on so it wouldn't just turn itself back off. |
