does anyone have any knowledge on how paypal works with your website as a business? if im collecting money from users on my site do i need a credit card #, bank account or both to give to paypal?

Since you're asking about other companies, I would seriously caution you about using a method of payment that people aren't familiar with. Paypal is a system that people are used to, people trust it, and even if they don't have paypal they can still use it very easily to pay with a credit card. The paypal site has plenty of information about how to use it alongside your online business, including site integration.

They'll only charge the fee once when transferring the funds from the donator's account, to yours. No fees are charged when transferring money from your paypal account to your bank account and vice versa. |
