Desiring New Guitar Options

Ahem, so I'm looking for a beginners acoustic guitar. Anybody got any suggestions? Under $200 is preferable but I can spare up to $300. If this is the wrong forums, I don't really know where this would go. Would an mod move it to appropriate place if you deem it necessary.

you could get a midlevel seagull.

are you looking for acoustic? or acoustic electric? or classical?

seagull s6+ or s6's are nice.
or a low/mid end martin. if you're good at haggling and know a good place you could probably find a martin dcx1e or dcx1ke

or if you don't mind used and are willing to shell out a bit more money you could maybe find a midlevel taylor if you look super hard.

but what you SHOULD do is go to a place with loads of guitars, people who know what they're talking about and go and try guitars. all guitars are different even though the model might be the same. so go and try and find what you like. look at the action, type of wood, tone quality, electronics (if it comes with it) finished or unfinished, etc.
