I'm asking two questions, might as well kill two birds with one stone.

I'm using Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004

So, links part first, I'm trying to insert a link. So I want to make some text a link and I followed a tutorial but there is NO BUTTON IN THE PROPERTIES PANEL TO MAKE A BUTTON. Grrr. The text I want to become a link is in a text box, obviously.

Another question! So, I got this one song inserted for my website and I have NO clue how I did it. It only plays when it's at the VERY bottom of the list in the library. That's the only way it works too for me, for some odd reason. I've tried replacing the sound loop and I had no luck and somehow it works now from being at the bottom of the list?

That's the best I can explain it, sorry. Would it be better if I provided my flash file?

for your link, you'll have to treat it as a button. type the text where you want it to be. click on the rectangle tool and make a rect around the text. click on the rectangle you made, and click F8(convert to button). double click on the button and move the slider to down. what type of actionscript are you using? 1.0, 2.0 or 3? as for the music, i haven't had a chance to play with it yet but you might want to find an AS for it so that it'll work for you. my suggestion, check out actionscript.org. they have tutorials, AS code and a forum. hope that helps.
