If you have a Facebook, you probably know about the group called "BRB, IM NOT REALLY GOING ANYWHERE, BUT NEITHER IS THIS CONVERSATION" (click). When you say "brb," are you actually going somewhere temporarily or pretending to be away? Same for "lol," "lmao," and "rofl": are you really amused or just saying that because you have no better response?
I always mean the acronyms that I use. |

I use LMAO when I laugh out loud, and LOL when something makes me smile, but it's not funny enough to make me laugh. Weird, I know.
Yea I say brb, but I do mean it because I actually go to search the interwebz for something or go posting or w/e. Or even when I'm doing hw, but I can still answer them. I'm just lazy to, and sometimes i forget to say "back" because I tend to close the window. ![]() |
