So i need hair help, So that i dont look like my geek english learner classmate. Options

Everyone that knows both me and the geek english learner kid (male) always say that our hair looks exactly the same. its GROSS. he has a really bad haircut and looks like a rat. it makes me feel horrible. but i cant go get another haircut, just got it recently. so i just end up tying it in a pony tail. any other ideas so that i dont look ratty? (my hair is collar bone length and is layered.)

Well if you hair is curly, straighten it. If you hair is straightened, curl it. Try putting your hair into different hairstyles and if you can, maybe even dye it, or if you have enough money, try to get another haircut some other time. Try to keep your hair as minimal in mess as possible, and try to keep it silky and clean looking.
