How did you feel, when you got into your first relationship? Options

Actually, its a story about mine. My crush, who likes me back, asked me to be his girlfriend on Leap Day. He's really shy and so he talks more online than in person. That's even how he asked me. In a sense, I'm happy but I also have mixed feelings about that... Is it really a relationship if he can't talk to me (due to embarrassment) in real life as much as online? I also have another problem. I'm really really close friends with this other guy S. He's my closest guy friend and he's the person I'm most comfortable with. We're irreplaceable to each other. But our feelings are not romantic. Yet I felt guilty when I told him that J and I got together, and he was confused and saddend at my controversial actions (I don't believe that high school relationships are the ones that go on forever... but I think it's a life experience. Yet, I just got with a guy.)... to the point of crying...
What's the meaning of all this and what should I do?

Your relationship might not be at its best right now, but if you're patient and give him time to open up when you're hanging out, he should become less shy. He'll appreciate you for letting him adjust. As for J getting jealous when you talk about S, think about how you'd feel if J always mentioned one of his girl friends all the time. You'd think that maybe J liked the other girl more, or that something was going on between them. Even though it's hard because you and S are so close, try not to talk about him to J.
