METAL FINGERS STILL STAYS CURRENT
Joe Budden, the JerZ Devil, the only man in the game since Kool G Rap to spit an entire rhyme in the perspective of three different people, all the victim in some way, and still flip the script by having some gully ass tracks gets my vote. The man is well aware that life isn't all about bitches and bling because he's just trying to survive his damn self. Joe Budden gets my vote. Discuss. /DOOMTRANSMISSION |

I'm giving it to Lil Wayne for his "Drought" Mixtapes because it's not enough to be a great rapper, nice freestyle artist or mixtape king. You have to make your mixtapes known. Lil Wayne did a concert in Canada which included some songs from his mixtapes. Why could he do that? Because he made his music, ALL of it known to the public. He made his mixtapes accessible to fans, Lil Wayne helped make mixtapes much more popular among everyday rap/hip hop fans, and that what it's all about.

I'm sorry but saying "its weezy, baby" all through the songs isn't shit. Shows that anybody can get a deal these days without talent. plus this fool has a ghostwritter, please. You might as well buy cam'ron and N.O.R.E. |

You might as well buy cam'ron and N.O.R.E. i don't believe he has a ghostwriter, but to each his own. besides, several rappers steal lyrics, styles, phrases, quotes, etc from other rappers and admit to ghostwriting/co-writing their songs. i'm saying that being a rapper today has nothing to do with talent or lyrical genius, it has everything to do with flow and delivery. |

But as for what is hip hop today. Too many one hit wonders without a plan and when they do...what are they gonna do? Today's rap basically doesn't have a meaning anymore. got all these talentless people making hits and getting money and as for the people with talent have to dumb it down or look a certain way because of album sells. That's why i made that comment about anybody can get a record deal these days because its all about the money. If i came out with a song called "corn nuts or fritos" believe me i would get radio play. If i was a real artist and i talk about real life stuff like what going on in this world and something i can relate with i will not get the play that i should get. why? maybe because of my image. i have to rock diamonds and have to have cars and females...whatever. What's funny is that people actually believe they are like that. people see that and believe " oh that's how they live...i want to grow and be like them" thinking its easy money and its really not. hip hop has a few real artists that still do what they believe and not let anybody tell them to dumb it down. |
