To this day, I don't understand what it fcking means to be flattered. Is it good to say, "wow, I'm flattered"?

My life won't ever be complete until I get this. hammer.gif

I never say that I'm flattered by something unless someone says something about me that has me completely floored. So when I say it, it means that someone has given me a compliment that caught me off guard, made me feel great, and genuinely gave me the impression that the person meant it, even if they didn't.

The act of flattery is a deliberate attempt to make someone look good, whether it's true about them or not, and when someone says they're flattered, they're essentially saying, "That doesn't adequately portray me at all (i.e., I don't deserve that!), but I greatly appreciate it!"

If an article of clothing is flattering to you, that means it does something for your body shape that makes it look good when it wouldn't normally look as good. Same goes for a hairstyle - people often cut their hair in a certain way to hide "flaws" created by their facial structure, and if it's done in a way that effectively hides these flaws, it's considered to be "flattering".

I'm overdoing this, but perhaps you understand the meaning of the word. xD
