Ok. I know a lot of you love Tim Burton and I'm really happy for you, truly.
Me? I want him nowhere near Alice in Wonderland. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/1689311/ |

i don't think you guys understand. alice in wonderland is a satire. the book was written in 1865 poking fun at the government. dont get me wrong, i liked the disney version, but it was never supposed to made into a children's movie. also, i dont think i could stand anymore of these goth wannabes talking about how f**king fantastic and dark tim burton is.

In 1865 I doubt it was ever meant to be turned into any sort of film, let alone a children's movie. But, for me, that's beyond the point. The film(s) and the book are completely different entities, it isn't like an adaptation has to be so similar to its source material in order to be good. Secondly, it isn't like Tim Burton's adaptation will be the second... there are tons and tons of adaptations of Alice in Wonderland. I've seen a few that are weirder and darker, far beyond anything Burton could even ever dream up. So, yeah, Burton sucks. |
