NEW YORK (Reuters) - Games maker Nintendo Co is planning to launch a new physical fitness product called Wii Fit for U.S. shipping in May, according to the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.

The Wii Fit will come with a weight-and-motion sensing device called the Wii Balance Board, according to the report.

Nintendo is also planning to launch a new online service in the U.S. in May called WiiWare that will allow game publishers to distribute new titles over the Internet directly to users instead of on discs.

A Nintendo spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.

As a parent, I LOVE this concept, not just for my son but for me as well. I personally loathe gyms and this makes for potential mom and kid time while sort of working out at the same time. It's also great during periods of cold weather, when going to the park seems like such travesty.
