Depends on who you're talking about, actually.

Theistic Satanists (which the sort your suggesting probably never even really existed in any sort of actual church) are worshipers of pagan gods and goddesses (not always antagonists to Christianity, per se). These sorts of people are very rare, especially today.

LaVeyan Satanism (adherents are part of the "Church of Satan") is the more popular of the two. Followers practice hedonism, objectivism, and atheism. They actually are non-believers. The title is merely to make fun of Christianity and use an important and recognizable symbol as an icon for their church. It works, apparently.

Yeah, it helps if the "grace" is coming from both sides. Most people when they're trying to "correct" other members are actually just trying to "pwn" them, and they do it with a lot of arrogance - which then sets the ball rolling for some action packed cb drama.
