Shake Shack (Madiseon Square Park), Say Cheese (45th Street), Broadway/Soho (YELLOW RAT BASTARD, Antique Orange for funky edgy brands and since your title is Miss DIY, this area also has tons of fabric stores with really interesting additional things like beads and peacock feathers).
